April News

Hello all
Hope you're enjoying the Spring sunshine. My big news this month is that I am getting married on 7th April. I am not selling tickets to this event, however!
But here's the stuff I am trying to flog in order to pay for this expensive celebration of love.

TOUR
There are still a few more chances to see "What is Love, Anyway" live, before I move on to the next show. I will be recording the DVD tonight at the Bloomsbury and it will be available from www.gofasterstripe.com in the autumn. Two extra shows have been added at the Bloomsbury Theatre in May.

RICHARD HERRING'S LEICESTER SQUARE THEATRE PODCAST
I will be recording a new podcast in front of an audience at the Leicester Square Theatre on Mondays in May and June. It will be a similar format to the Edinburgh Fringe podcast, but weekly so a bit more structured, including brand new topical stand up, chat with some big name comedians and a short set from a great new comic that you might not have heard of. If you come to the shows live you will be able to interact and have the chance to win some great (and rubbish) prizes. Confirmed guests are Tim Minchin on 7th May, Charlie Higson on 21st May and Stewart Lee on 18th June. But more will follow. Tickets are just £12.50 and are understandably selling fast so book now - http://leicestersquaretheatre.ticketsolve.com/shows/126524253/events
The podcasts will be put up unedited on iTunes and the British Comedy Guide shortly after the recording, so you can still hear these shows even if you can't make it down.

EDINBURGH FRINGE
It's my Silver Jubilee year at the Edinburgh Fringe and I will be performing in two shows. I will be doing more Edinburgh Fringe Podcasts at Stand One in the afternoon. Dates and prices here
Preview Aug 2 16:10 (1hr) £9.00(£8.00) Aug 3-12,14-27 14:15 (1hr) £10.00(£9.00)

My stand up show will be "Talking Cock: The Second Coming" at the Upside Down Cow in Bristo Square on 1st-26th August at 8.15pm.
I will let you know when tickets are on sale. I will be previewing this show throughout June and July in places including London, Cardiff, Nottingham, Brighton, Cambridge, Salisbury, Harpenden, Banbury, Newcastle and Bristol. There will be more details in the next newsletter.

PODCASTS
Thanks to all those of you who voted for me in the Chortle awards. I retained the Internet award for the second year running.
The Me1 vs Me2 Snooker podcast is on a hiatus as none of the Mes have access to a snooker board at the moment. You can hear the first 13 extraordinary frames at the British Comedy Guide - http://www.comedy.co.uk/podcasts/richard_herring_snooker/ or iTunes - http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/me1-vs-me2-snooker-richard/id485710409
I am also still recording my daily blog Warming Up which you can listen to on Itunes- http://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/rich-herring-warming-up/id446472645 or Soundcloud - http://feeds.soundcloud.com/users/5510726-herring1967/tracks

OK that's all for now. Next time I email you I will (if all goes well) be married. I expect I will have changed a lot and be all grown up then, so for one last time might I just say, "willies".
Hope to see you at one of the gigs
Richard Herring
