I don't know why the fuck I agreed to go on the Wright Stuff the morning after my first performance of AIOTM. I had very little sleep and was still pretty much exhausted from the most hectic 10 days of work that I have had for some good time. I could really have done with sleeping in forever. You might be able to watch it on Youtube at some point (not up yet). Last time I was on this show I had a little tussle with Carol Thatcher, but nothing quite as interesting this time. But had an enjoyable time with Gail Porter and Joe Mangel. Gail had to talk about a story about a Coronation Street actress with a ruptured spleen, which none of us found a funny story, but Gail had a bit of an issue with the word "spleen" and kept laughing every time it was mentioned. She was terrified that she might corpse on air, which would have been massively inappropriate, but luckily she came up with the solution of not mentioning the word. I still had to look away though, just in case I set her or myself off.
Later I was going on the Geoff Lloyd show on Absolute, which is always a pleasure and never a chore. I had a very enjoyable chat with Geoff, Nelson and Annabelle and I am a bit unclear which bits were on air and which weren't.
But I was feeling ill and exhausted and didn't get up to too much for the rest of the day. I have taken on a bit too much at the moment and am aware things aren't going to get a lot easier. So even though it was a relief to have got the first AIOTM out of the way (and lovely comments so far from everyone and a fair and positive review from Den of Geek) I am already stressing about getting the next one done and having any time to experience anything or get anything written. Tomorrow more interviews, followed by doing the voice over for the Hasselhoff doc, followed by going to see Comedians (and then annoyingly having to dash off to do a gig, which I had been told was the 15th when I booked it, but have just found out is the 14th), working on the Russell Howard show on Thursday, a meeting with TV people on Friday morning, followed by a trip to Brighton for a live podcast and a Hitler Moustache show, which I need to relearn (Hitler Moustache selling well, but big theatre so still some tickets left but podcast in tiny venue so not sure if you'll get tickets here still) and on Saturday I am gigging in Leicester.
So it's going to be another stressful Sunday and Monday of writing. But good to be busy I suppose, though felt so tired tonight that I wondered if I can keep up with this pace until Christmas. We shall see.
If you heard the Collings and Herrin podcast last week, you will know that I was worried about the possibilities of a male or small breasted female terrorist hiding Oasis style explosives in their bra. I have also written before about the prospect of terrorists using latex fat suits as favoured by Eddie Murphy to hide explosives. Apparently the security forces have been paying attention (and thankfully Al Qaeda haven't been reading the blog) as they are introducing an X Ray system which can look under people's clothes. Personally I am delighted about that, as I don't really mind some anonymous person getting a look at the outline of my genitals (I don't like the idea, and anyone who says I do is lying) and would rather that than someone blowing a hole in my plane with their false breasts or semtex testes (semtestes). I will keep coming up with potential terrorist atrocities though, so do keep reading, both security services and terrorists. It will be a fun game. Will the terrorists be able to use my ideas before the security services can come up with a way to stop them? Jeopardy!
And there's still surely a window of opportunity for the Oasis breasts before all the airports have the X ray device, so pull your finger out Osama. There's still time.
