Thank God I didn't do that Half Marathon. I have been so tired today that I think that additional exertion might have knocked me out entirely.
I got up around nine and did a bit of writing, but then felt like having a quick snooze. I didn't wake up again until three. And even then I felt like I'd just arrived back on a long haul flight from Australia. My limbs ached, my head hurt and my hands have gone strangely numb. I thought exercise was meant to be good for you.
But even twelve hours sleep did not mean I spent the rest of the day alert and full of energy. I have been lying around and almost falling asleep for the vast majority of the day. Thank God there are no children here wanting to play dolls with me or I might never wake again.
I hope I will feel refreshed tomorrow. We have our last training session before the big day on Wednesday. Knowing Martin he will be expecting us to row to Calais.
Knowing us we will do that for him.
