I love the occasional coincidences that Warming Up will throw up. I was having a night out at a party after a very enjoyable gig to an audience of 100 or so who pretty much all seemed to like what I was doing.
I was chatting to Josie Long, who you may remember I discussed in this entry. She has a new issue of her stupid and inspired magazine coming out soon.
Suddenly she remembered that one of her friends had been reading Warming Up and she had been involved in another entry.
It turns out that Josie was the person who had graffitied on the U2 poster in this entry. Isnt that a pleasing coincidence? I suppose its not surprising that I found her work amusing, as we do share a similar sense of humour, but how weird that I should choose to write about it and how unlikely that I should find out who was the mysterious author after all this time.
In other possible good news I happened to bump into a man who is in charge of DVD releases at the BBC. I had had a couple of beers by now and said, You know what you should really do is release Fist of Fun on DVD. I get so many emails from people asking if its available and they sell pirate copies on ebay all the time. Im getting fed up of it, so youd really help me out if youd put it out.
He actually seemed quite interested in the idea he is already releasing the DVDs of Stewarts solo shows so you never know, perhaps this blatant and drunken appeal might one day bear fruit. But dont hold your breath.
