The new computer is dreamy. I don't think it's particularly because it's a Mac - it's just amazing to have a computer where the sound works, which boots up quickly and which doesn't freeze and stall all the time and where there isn't a big bold line obscuring part of the screen and a screen that is about to fall off. How quickly I have moved on.
Having said that I am not writing on either of my laptops at the moment, as I am temporarily without either of them. They are both in the Apple Store awaiting a technically minded person who can move my documents and iTunes from rubbishy old to dreamy new. So I am writing this on a Mac out on display in he store. If you're in central London and ever need to do some work or go on the internet for free then I recommend you pop into the Regent St store where you can do the same as me, seemingly for as long as you like. The internet cafes in the locality must hate this place.
The after sales support was really what swung me towards the Mac in the end and it was great to be able to come into the badly named "Genius Bar" to get a spod to help me with a couple of little problems and organise the changeover of files. I was slightly put out that I had to leave both computers with him overnight though. I feel a bit lost without my laptop and my internet access and was pining for both for the rest of the day and no doubt for most of tomorrow too. I would be lost in a world without technology, but I have to say I am amazed by the leap forwards that have been made in the last couple of years in computers, phones, iPods and TVs. I suddenly have quite a lot of new equipment and I feel like a different person. Until it gets taken away from me, when I feel like a heartbroken lover pining for my sweetheart. Which is probably a bit of a telling admission. I might have to go into rehab for my addiction.
Aside from that crazy heckler the show has been going really well this week and tonight was the best performance yet. More people are coming and though it's not been full yet I am hoping it might be so for the last two performances. So come along if you haven't already.
Anyway I am worried a member of staff might come and beat me up for my cheekiness, so I'd better go, but do remember that this is the best free internet spot in central London if you're ever here. Oh but remember to log out when you're done if you're on myspace or anything. I have just been able to get into two people's accounts and was very tempted to send some bogus messages to their friends. I didn't though. Also slightly worryingly I managed to get back into my admin site despite having logged off, so if strange entries start appearing on here (I mean stranger than the usual ones) then it wasn't me!
