Decided to try and get some chores done today, but everything goes sluggishly. I tidied up my Twitch desk for the first time in months and found a box for all puppets to live in, but then kept getting distracted into other jobs in other parts of the house and then decided it was time to trim the bamboo in the garden. So I did little bits everywhere, but if you looked at the house as a whole then it did not appear much  different.
I surprised my wife by sticking up some battery powered lights in her dim wardrobe that come on with a motion sensor. But they didn’t stick on well so I just surprised her because she found some weird lights on the floor.
I took my dog to the vets which has become like a weird drug deal now (apt as we were picking up some drugs - dog drugs, which I imagine are pretty good, though they are just to stop fleas and ticks and stuff). I had to call reception and then sit in my car until the vet came out to take my “dog” and then return to the car until she reemerged with the “dog” and “drugs” (all these things are code for either dog or drugs) and then pay by phone from the car.
The drug deal like energy was heightened a bit by the fact that as I sat in the car a fairly scary and seemingly drunk man wandered into the car park. I know enough not to make eye contact when something like this is going on. But it’s hard as I was keen to keep an eye on him lest he make for my car and opened the unlocked door and killed me. Which he definitely would if he saw me looking at him. I couldn’t even central lock the car as that kind of action would again be judged as hostile and mean a beating. I had a big dog with me at this point, but she was in the boot and would be of no real use to me.
So I sat there, not looking, but trying to look and praying that I was being judgemental of this man who looked like he didn’t care what happened next in his life as long as it was illegal. I respected him for that. But feared him.
I hoped to study his many tattoos to see if any of them were in support of Hitler or white power, just to put my mind at ease. Because if he had them I could show him the 88 tattooed on my forehead and we’d be pals. But knowing my luck he would be one of the anti-racism tattoo men.
He sat on a tree stump facing directly at me. What was he up to? A car pulled up and he went up to it and gave the driver something and  then the car drove away. But it was probably just a friend who  he had borrowed an Alanis Morissette CD off of and he was returning it. Because it was still just about daylight and only just after 4pm so it can’t have been “drugs”.
Once the “CD” had gone the man disappeared off into the dusk and I relaxed a bit and got on with my own transaction. The vet seemed impressed with Wolfie and said everything was OK with her.
I am not sure the same can be said of her owner.
