My morning with the kids and we managed a fair amount of education with phonics (Rosie Instone who enthusiastically encourages her students has also tested my affections to Rebecca from Cbeebies), a maths and activities website and another science experiment involving dye and crystals. The kids are holding it together quite well given the basic incarceration, though we did manage a family outing and walk up the hill after lunch (though Ernie mainly wanted to be carried).
My precious afternoon of work was mainly taken up with bits and bobs I needed to record for other people. I did some mainly improvised stuff as a man keeping a video diary of his incarceration. I had grown a middling beard over the last fortnight, so recorded my four segments in reverse order and trimmed my beard a bit each time, before shaving it off for the first one.
The software we do the Twitch stuff on seems to keep changing its settings each time we turn the computer off, so Chris Evans (not that one) had to take remote control of my laptop to sort it all out in time for the evening snooker/football manager. A lively frame between Me1 (surely the favourite) and Me9, a Me apparently controlled by a Victorian ventriloquist dummy that had once tried to wank me off, had all kinds of twists and turns (just like the wanking). I won’t give out the result in case any of you are waiting to watch it on catch up.
I had the unusual delight of playing Kevin Toms’ Football Manager whilst Kevin Toms himself observed. Not just him, that would have been weird, but over a thousand people tuned in to Twitch tonight to watch this and the snooker. It’s lo-fi and retro but no less exciting as a result. Talbot was my star player and the fans at home certainly got behind him and the team. Again, no spoilers in case you want to watch the matches at a later date.
I got no further with the book.
Holding it together so far. My greatest fear is that my wife gets the virus and has to self-isolate and I have to look after the kids 24/7.
I mean it’d be sad that she was ill, but still, what a lucky ducky she’d be.
Should be up on the site after that and I believe is also being released as a podcast on the usual stream. Might mean I don’d do any snooker (unless I do it after/before)
