Saturday 6th February 2010

My moustache seems to be drawing more attention than ever. I am not sure why this has suddenly happened, but a few weird things have been happening.
As I walked down the road early this morning on the way to do our 6 Music show, a man was approaching me laughing slightly maniacally. Was I the cause of this crazy guffawing or was this man just mentally ill? It's hard to tell at 8am on a Saturday in the Bush.
Later on on my way out to do the show, just a few yards up the road from the first incident, a man dressed in a white suit that seemed to be covered in feathers, which was splashed with paint, saw me passing and without saying anything pointed his finger right towards my moustache. Perhaps the madder I become the more mad people can see me, or I can see them, like some mental version of "The Sixth Sense". Both these incidents were disconcerting and weird.
But it was a good day. We had fun at 6Music, especially when talking about Skippy's disembodied paws. You can hear it all here for the next week or subscribe to the highlights at iTunes.
And it was a sell out for Hitler Moustache tonight too. Apparently a girl was sick in the audience, though I missed that happening and hope it was nothing to do with me personally.
Ended up coming home on a tube filled with football supporters, who were singing in what felt like a threatening rather than exuberant way. And I was in fear of them spotting the moustache and either beating me to a pulp or declaring me their leader. Luckily I got home in one piece, looking forward to a couple of days off.
