Saturday Telegraph

The editor of the student bit from the Saturday Telegraph emailed me to ask if he could use one of my warming ups in his paper. I agreed. It was quite heavily sub editted as you'll see if you compare the article to my original text.
It also got an amusing complaint letter which can be read in full in Warming Up for 25th November 2003, but which I include the first page of here, for your amusement.

Cosmopolitan Diary of a Penis

Cosmo asked me to write a diary of a penis. I did several drafts. I have included them all here, along with their edit of the piece. Which in my opinion removes most of the funny stuff. And I had kept it quite broad in the first place, I feel.

B Magazine Article

An article in B Magazine which is said to have been written by me. This is not true.It was written by a journalist based on a reading of my book and an interview with me. Why they couldn't just say that I don't know. I don't really like it as it messes around with some of the jokes and takes some of the sensitive stuff from the book out of context and includes some jokes that I have never said and would never make. Which would be fine if it just said it was written by someone else.
Plus it pretty much fails to plug the book which was the point of the exercise.
But never mind. Hope you enjoy it.
