We finished writing two books in our house yesterday (though I suspect I have a little more to do on mine), which is a pretty remarkable achievement (even if one of the books is just a load of dumb stupid questions) and so tonight we went out to celebrate. With the kid’s Nana staying overnight, we could go crazy.
I had about 6 units of alcohol. That’s what I call a good time!
It was so good to get a proper night out and to spend some non-parenting time together. It’s been a tough tour for us both, whether away from the family or at home with them, but a big relief to be approaching slightly calmer waters.
We discussed our plans to get healthier and more organised as we battered our bodies with food and booze. But sometimes being unhealthy is very healthy. I am a very lucky man to have had this woman, and the other people she has somehow magically produced out of the most unexpected place, in my life.
I’d had the earliest of starts with Ernie, but I just about kept up the energy all day. I’d made a foray back to the gym and then managed to knock off another 50 emergency questions, exclusively for the kickstarter backers of the Oh Frig I’m 50! DVD (apart from one that I liked so much I decided to also put it in the book and can’t wait to try out on my guests next series. Thanks again to all those of you who made the filming possible.
Talking of which the draw for backer who won the original “Have you ever irked a postman?” first edition of Emergency Questions was held today and won by Mark Welham. Congrats. Chris Evans (not that one) will be in touch. We’re working on the other rewards as you’ve seen. But full delivery will take a few months.
