There’s probably a bit too much on my plate at the moment and unsurprisingly every now and again my body rebels and says, “Nope mate, I am too tired to write your stupid cock jokes now”. I’ve been up before six (or thereabouts) every day this week, so it’s not getting any easier. And today, although I had a run at a full day’s work, I knew I wasn’t really going to get very far. In the end after knocking around a couple of ideas for next week’s AIOTM, I concentrated on making the final AIOTM reward T-shirts and doing important admin stuff. I a delighted to be doing a series of AIOTM, but it’s a hell of a lot of work and today the weight of all we still have to do incapacitated me. It will no doubt feel better by the end of the month when half of the studio records will have been done and we should have filmed all six running sketches about my robot sex obsession. But even then there’s three more studios and quite a few more sketches left to write and film. And the small matter of four episodes of Relativity which I am meant to have together by December…..

But I am sure we will get there. And I hope it will all be worth the effort. We are going to have much more stuff than we promised you, for sure (and not only the bonus six audio episodes that we never even mentioned we were going to do). God knows how it is going to turn out and if anyone will even watch it or if it will be worth the stress and distraction from my other work (and life in general), but sometimes trying to do something is as important as how it actually turns out.

We had a friend saying with her two boys who had to sleep in the same room as the drying home made T-shirts. “Your T-shirts are terrible,” the 9 year old told me.

“Well you say that,” I replied, “But some people have over a hundred pounds to get one."

“But why?"

“When did someone pay £100+ for one of your drawings? It’s never going to happen. So get over it."

“Anyone who has bought one of those T-shirts is crazy."

I mean, maybe he had a point and I couldn’t help thinking he was a little bit like the small boy who had pointed out that the king is naked. Except this king knows he is naked and is happy about it.

His younger brother tried to trump me, by drawing a picture of me stepping in some dog poo. But he had to label that the picture was me, and that the poo was poo, so how good was that really? Actually I had to do the same with the drawings on my T-shirts. And he did have a point. I do sometimes step in dog poo, so maybe the power of the satirists pencil had just got to me.

I am nearly 50 and it is my unpaid job to send out T-shirts to crazy people, the art work of which is genuinely worse than what an averagely gifted 7 year old artist could achieve. I can’t work out if this makes me a winner or a loser. But I guess only a loser would struggle with that conundrum.

Ah well, there’s probably an AIOTM sketch in it.
