I have put on over half a stone since filming started thanks to the excellent catering and so this weekend have been back at the gym trying to work some of the weight off before my naked scenes, which are all being shot on Friday.
I had a good swim early this morning and then headed across the road for a coffee. A man with a small dog was sitting by the door. As I sat reading my book (The very entertaining "Running With Scissors" by Augusten Burroughs) a couple came in with two young toddlers. They saw the dog and smiled and cooed and walked towards it. The dog was shocked by their attention and let out a loud and surprising bark. The children were frightened and started to cry. The man with the dog was profusely apologetic and the parents were almost equally contrite. No harm had been done apart from a slight fright for both children and animal.
By the time the kids were round the corner they had forgotten about their ordeal and were all smiles again and hopefully not psychologically scarred for life. When you have kids there are unexpected dangers around every corner. The same goes if you have a dog.
It's not a very interesting story, nor does it have a very instructive moral, but it was the most exciting thing that happened to me on a lazy day off alone.
I can't commit a major crime every day. Just as the moon remains bright in the sky on most nights.
