Storming to the end of the Fringe now. I realised in the bar tonight that at that time next week I would be back home. Just six more shows to go, yet it feels as if the show is just beginning. In the end I am going to be sad to leave, though I am looking forward to my holiday (I am flying off to Thailand next Tuesday), but not yet got that last week tedium that usually sets in by now.
Saw another couple of shows today, "Killer Joe", which is a tense and funny drama starring a surprisingly sinister Tony Law and "Psister Psycho" which is a silly and camp new musical, which is written by Danielle Ward who also created last year's
Tak a Break Tales. It's great to see someone coming up with two such different pieces of work in two years. It's what Edinburgh should be about. Psister Psycho is about a robotic nun who is trying to destroy the world, but it's an excuse for lots of tomfoolery and overacting and surprisingly adept and beautiful songs. It's well worth a look.
Reading back over that old entry, I realise I haven't yet been to the Tempting Tattie this year. It's an
Edinburgh tradition and I only have a few days to fulfill it. It is hard to choose the right moment to fill my stomach with cheesy stodge. Maybe it's not going to happen this time.
