So finally after months of excess and not caring I am back on a health kick. For the last three days I have been eating healthy food and watching my calorific intake on
Fitday.com and in spite of tiredness, jetlag and the last remnants of my Thai lurgy I find myself feeling energetic and sprightly and good. It's ridiculous. How could I have let myself slide so badly?
But it's good to be starting back on the right path and the good thing about having given so little thought to my calorific intake over the last half a year means at least that it should be pretty easy to drop weight when I limit myself to 2500-3000 calories a day.
I am also going to get back into my exercise regime. In fact I tried today and went down to the gym for a swim. Unfortunately evil Richard Branston has decided to refurbish the pool and so it was closed, but it's the thought that counts. And thinking about exercise is, supposedly as effective as actually exercising.
I went to see
Knocked Up tonight, which is a very funny and endearing, if slightly overlong film. It's well worth a look though, being a massive leap forward from the usual US gross out, slacker comedies, actually making you think a bit as well as laugh. There are some bits that made me laugh enough to miss what was happening for the next thirty seconds and a genuinely funny section about people on drugs, which is an area where comedy usually flounders. You should go and see it if you haven't already. I know it's been out for a while.
