Back on the healthy trail after two or three days of naughtiness. The thing is that you have to write down everything you eat, folks. I was hoping I'd got to the point where I would instinctively keep my calorific intake to around about 2000 (and to be fair I have done OK at that for the last couple of months), but unless you write it down you can't be sure. Write down your calories, Britain.
I had a couple of treats in the afternoon and worked out that I'd have to have a small dinner as a result OR buy back some calorific intake by going to the gym. I did 45 minutes and as a result could eat soup, a superfood salad, some parma ham and a yoghurt for dinner. And then some fishfingers for supper. And I still had 20 calories to spare. I could, if I wanted, eat half a piece of chocolate. But I won't take the chance of buying a bar of chocolate to do that. Just in case I eat the whole thing and ruin everything. Dieting is easy, you losers. You just have to let it take over your whole life for the rest of your whole life. It's easy! EASY! Idiots.
And the Collings and Herring podcast got (briefly) back where it belonged in the iTunes top 25. But now it's gone down a bit again. There will be another one along tomorrow.
Also while I'm here, if you haven't yet donated to
The Headmaster's Son programme fund, you only have about a fortnight to do so. Remember it's only £12.50 (more if you like) and you get your name in print, plus you're helping out some terrific kids,
like these ones. You get a free daily blog and now a free weekly podcast, so it'd be lovely if you gave a little bit back. But you don't have to. You know, if your heart is dead.
Current highest donation is a marvellous £201 from Simon Baker. But come on, you can beat that.
And if you have any money left after that then why not come to see the final
Lyric Comedy Night of this season. I'll be introducing Tony Law, Justin Edwards, Jack Whitehall and the amazing Russell Howard, who is on fire at the moment (not literally, but if he was I would
help put him out). Come along. It's going to be a great night.
And if informants are correct then tomorrow's Warming Up will be my 2000th consecutive entry. So have a drink for me tomorrow night. But remember to write it down in your book. And don't feel that you should donate money, just cos I have done 2000 consecutive entries and you've never paid anything for them. That would be ridiculous.
Tonight I'm going to party like it's 1999. How much wine can I get for 20 calories?
