Monday 8th February 2010

Feeling almost human today, but enjoyed more recreation, catching up with the latest episodes of 24 and watching the first few episodes of Oz, which I can't quite work out if I like yet and which seems ridiculously dated and unrealistic after seeing "The Wire". It may grow on me.
I also managed to get to the gym, which I just haven't been doing enough recently (I've lost about 3kg since the start of the year, but have a long way to go before my clothes fit and I stop snoring like a hog). It made me feel a whole lot better, which should be incentive enough to stop be being so slothful, but I had taken my iPod in to watch "Outnumbered" and to play Conquest whilst I cycled. I've recently purchased a battery pack because due to overuse the rubbishy iPhone battery wasn't even lasting a day. It has the unexpectedly pleasing side effect of turning the slim iPhone into a big brick of a phone. I know I shouldn't like that, but it is strangely satisfying and possibly makes it look less appetising to thieves on bicycles.
But it means I have had to take off the protective casing that I had used previously.
I decided not to take the battery pack into the gym, so just had my tiny unprotected iPhone and so I was a little bit aghast when I accidentally caught the headphone wire with my hand when I was on the running machine and sent my precious iPhone cascading to the floor. Had I managed to smash it? I have had one iPhone stolen and nearly dropped this one down the toilet. Had I once again demonstrated that I can not be trusted with expensive things?
It seemed fine.
That was a relief.
And thanks to Conquest I once again stayed on the exercise bike for about 20 minutes longer than I would have done. Perhaps, if I don't smash it or lose it first, the iPhone might actually help me get fit. It's a good thing to have when you're exercising.
