Days Without Alcohol - 98.

Packing for my holiday - which doesn't actually begin until tomorrow, but my flight is very early so I am staying at Gatwick tonight- I was going through my wardrobe and decided to try and see if I could fit into the 33 inch waist trousers that I bought a few years ago; the last time I was thinnish. I am not sure I was even able to get them on at the time, possibly buying them in the hope that my weight loss would continue, but timing it all wrong, just as I returned to gorging.
I was certain they would stop somewhere around my thighs or at the very best be impossible to button up, but I got them on, did them up and they felt pretty comfortable. It was a good feeling. I decided to wear them for the trip (which would be the ultimate test - sitting for three hours on a plane with too tight trousers could be a discomforting experience). I then also tried on a shirt that I had bought for the "Oh Fuck I'm 40" photo shoot last year, when again I was relatively thin (but had started putting on weight again). It had been fine for the photo, but when I had moved around in it I had realised that it was much too tight - I had bought three similar shirts and this was quite annoying, especially as I then went on tour and put on a stone. The shirt was a perfect fit for the new me. It was rather gratifying to find that I suddenly had a new holiday wardrobe without having to go out and buy any clothes. And a timely reminder not to go too crazy while I am away. Let's see if the stuff fits when I get back after pasta, pizza, ice cream and... booze? Wouldn't it be terrible if I only got to 99 days?
