Richard Herring January Newsletter

Happy New Year and apologies for just having sent you a blank email

Here's what I've got coming up in January of this futuristic year 2006

GIGS
I am doing a run of my Edinburgh show, Someone Likes Yoghurt, at the Battersea Arts Centre from the 18th-20th January. It's an extended show in two halves and starts at 7.30pm. Box Office is 020 7223 2223. It would be a great help to the future of this show if it could sell well at this venue, so please come along and bring all your friends and spread the word. The Edinburgh show was recently acclaimed as the worst comedy experience of 2005 by the Daily Telegraph and given that 2005 saw the premiere of Channel 4's Balls of Steel, this is quite an accolade.
I am also doing the show at the Civic Theatre in Bedford on 26th January. Check the gig guide at www.richardherring.com for details.

RADIO
I am a regular panellist on a new Radio 4 show called "Banter". This starts being broadcast towards the end of the month, but we're also doing recordings. If you want to come along then go to http://www.tvrecordings.com/ where hopefully there will be some tickets left. It's a really funny show with some top comedians appearing, including Dave Gorman and Arthur Smith.

TV
If you have satellite TV then you can still catch my show "Heads Up With Richard Herring" on Pokerzone (channel 226) on Sundays at 9 (and repeated throughout the week). Unfortunately this show has not been recommissioned.

OTHER NEWS
I am shooting a taster tape (a 10 minute pilot) of my TV version of Warming Up this month. If this gets the go ahead then a series should be on BBC4 before the end of the year.
I have given in my pilot script for a new sit-com "You Can Choose Your Friends" to the BBC. They like what I have done and want a re-write, but things are looking positive that this too might go to series.
The Grumpy Old Women stage show which I script edited is going to tour in the Spring. Look out for it at a theatre near to you

Have a great 2006. I hope to see you at one of my gigs
