Ernie told me he had a Bucket List today - he is not dying as far as I know - but he takes after his mum who on an early date told me she had a bucket list including her desire to build a pyramid out of Ferrero Rocher chocolates (and a classic Herring stand up routine was born).
I only know one thing on Ernie's list and it's frankly incredible. He wants to go for a poo at the same time as someone else (on a different toilet) and talk to them on the phone. He is either going to be a fabulous stand up comedian or a terrific pervert. And if he's like he's dad he will be both.
I thought I had mined the depths of scatological ideas, but this young genius is way ahead of me.
I am prepared to help him fulfil this ambition. In fact I would be proud to, but so far our toilet visits have not aligned. Will keep you updated.
Good to have a bucket list item that could conceivably be carried out in a bucket.

For a fun trip back to the 1990s, why not watch the Lee and Herring bits from (I think just the first series) of Festival of Fun?
I watched about fifteen minutes of it today and quite enjoyed it. It is certainly more fun than I remember it being and I am quite impressed with my performance.
Our schedule for that show was insane. We'd get up at about 6 o clock in the morning to travel from our hotel to the flat that we were pretending to live in (why didn't we just live in it?) and we'd work for 12 hours knocking out these links and interviewing comedians (you can see the genesis of bits of RHLSTP in this), then we'd head out in the evening to do gigs at various comedy clubs, before heading back to the hotel to have drinks in the bar and fail to network (for me at least - this has always been a skill that is beyond me, hence my career).
I realise I covered all this in a blog from a couple of years ago, so read it here if you missed it. It's pretty juicy!

Cleary the beard look worked for Americans, but I had no interest from anyone at the Edinburgh Fringe that year. So the beard put off the UK women. It's the only thing that Love Actually got wrong. Kris Marshall should have had a beard and then his sexual success would have made sense.
Anyway, somehow I managed to get all this work and play done on what must have been two hours sleep a night. I was young, dumb and full of Canadian muffins.
The Canadian muffins were mostly sprayed with some kind of varnish to keep them looking fresh or something (I think this is something done of film sets quite often) and I was reminded not to actually eat them, unless it was an unvarnished one. But I forgot this on a couple of occasions and couldn't resist. I can't really remember much of the other stuff that happened, but I can still taste the muffin varnish.
The impressive thing is that I made that mistake more than once. I love a Canadian muffin. Probably why the American women loved me.

Sales are good, but if you want to see Mike Wozniak book now rather than later!
