I got my new passport today. I voted Brexit to get back the old blue passport and here it is. As blue as the ace of spades. As blue as the midnight sky. It’s a thing of beauty. Now I’ve got it we can go back into the EU. That’s all I wanted.
It’s actually the shittest made official document I’ve ever seen in my life - the accreditation that was made to differentiate the different jobs in the "stamping on the fingers of 1-2 under the sliding partition” game were genuinely better. But I knew what I was voting for. A not blue passport that would have looked and felt better if it had been made out of cereal packets by my children PLUS a much lower standard of living. Mission accomplished.
Catie is away for four days doing Drunk Women gigs and it hit Phoebe hard. She asked why it couldn’t be me who had gone away. I wanted to tell her it’s because I am a modern dad who believes that both parents should get equal opportunities to work and do child care. But instead I just felt sad that she ridiculously loves her mum more than her pushover dad.
But love hanging out with these tykes and I told them that they’ve been good all year and that Father Christmas will definitely bring them presents.
I managed to comfort the kids by spoiling them with treats and letting Phoebe crash the start of Twitch of Fun (not that I really have any choice). Not too many creative fireworks in tonight’s show, but the time passed and it was nice and relaxed. It will be available in all the usual outlets on Friday.
The new system worked well, though I maybe need to get some more desk space for my puppets. It’s quite a set up.

That’s 20 years of Warming Up entries completed. We will wait til tomorrow to let the celebrations commence, but I have written something (not always a great something) for every single day now for two decades. The thing I can’t get my head round is that I’ve been with my wife for three quarters of that time - it feels like there was a lot more “single” Warming Up than that. In fact 15 years ago today I was driving along the south coast, buzzing with hormones and my brain clouded with zinging emotions about the woman who I had been talking to the night before.
And here we still are, though admittedly she’s in Bristol right now and I’m looking after the fruits of our passion alone.  But creating two human lives would be a pretty good result for 20 years. But 7295 consecutive blogs is better.
