I am now about a third of the way into my new book, having got to over 26000 words and  I’ve just got to the bit where I (SPOILER ALERT) lose a bollock. I think that probably means the pacing is about right, but at the moment I am just concentrating on getting the story down and then I will look at how it feels as a whole. Have I got another 54000 words to say about the aftermath of the operation? Yes probably. It’s been quite a big deal to be honest. I haven’t yet decided if the book will only be my story or if I will include material about the history of testicles. Either way, I am pretty pleased with the way it’s all shaping up.
Tonight I had a zoom call with director Jamie Adams to discuss his new project. About this time last year I went to Wales to film his project Real Love and I am delighted not only to be acting in his new improvised film, but also that it is being funded by some of the money we’ve made from putting adverts in RHLSTP.
Ever since I’ve started doing things online (and before that) it’s been my dream to bypass the producers and executives and be able to afford to make my own stuff or fund stuff that I thought should be being made, so it’s a wonderful and unexpected development to be in a position to put up the cash for something like this. Hopefully Sky Potato can keep producing ever more ambitious projects, but making an (admittedly very low-budget) movie is more ambitious than I’d thought we would get.
It feels the right thing to be putting the money we get from podcast ads into stuff like this. It’s very much Jamie’s project in this case and Chris Evans (not that one) and me are very hands off producers and unusually not even bothered about making our money back. Jamie told me of demands made by previous exec producers, but we’ve given him totally free rein, because he knows more about this than we do. Wow, imagine if all executives were as wise as us.
It’ll be great if the project does make money, of course, because it means we can make more stuff.  But it’s unusual for the money men to care more about the art than the profits. Chris and me are the worst businessmen ever and yet somehow we’ve made this thing work out. It’s all like a wonderful joke.
But thank you for all those listens which have made this possible. You’ll still have to pay to watch the film though.
Anyway, we’re filming in Wales in a couple of weeks and we’ve got a great cast and I’m really looking forward to getting my teeth into this one. The improvisation element makes it exciting, but also time efficient. We are making a movie in five days and I don’t have to learn any lines. Which is good, because my old brain finds that kind of stuff really difficult now.
Oh and Real Love, last year's film, should be out in the autumn.

I was out for an evening stone clear at 5.15pm  It’s been a little while, what with Covid and everything, so it was nice to ramble through the Stocean whilst rambling to myself. I am beginning to doubt that I will have enough time left to complete this job, but hopefully if I can redouble my efforts the field will be cleared of stones before I am buried in it.
