Good to see that people are enjoying the Retro RHLSTPs that go up on Fridays. Today's blast (literally) from the past was Brian Blessed, still one of the most extraordinary pieces of theatre that I've ever witnessed (which was pretty much all I did). Check it out here
We're hopeful we can hook in new listeners with these repeats, but they also give us some extra downloads and thus more revenue, so you're really helping us out if you have a listen or persuade someone else to do so.
I realised that on the creator website I can not only see how many people are downloading the shows (we're getting about 750,000 downloads a month now which is incredible) but there are analytics of who they are and where they live.
74% of the people who download the podcast (from Acast only in this case) are men. Not quite sure if that's more or less than I would have expected and 44% of them are in the 35-44 age range. It doesn't say how many work in IT but it's got to be at least 99%.
Eighty per cent of my downloads come from the UK with the USA just beating Australia into second place with around about 28,000 downloads a month in both countries - probably not enough for me to think about going on a world tour just yet. Ireland comes next with around 15,000 downloads - and remember that doodle be one 40 year old man in IT downloading 15,000 episodes a month.
It's more fun to see the places in the world that you wouldn't expect a download (and there are plenty of places that are pointless, though nearly every one of them would be pointless on Pointless).
I got one download in Angola this month. One Angola based middle-aged IT supporting man had a listen to one of the podcasts and decided that was enough. But I am still delighted that my voice has rung out (maybe just into the ears of one person) in Angola.
954 downloads in South Korea versus 0 in North Korea - I don't know what could be stopping people tuning in there. Sadly no one is listening in the Vatican so I can be pretty sure that the Pope is not a fan.
Man, I could look at this stuff all day. So I did.
Well not quite. I was feeling well enough to get on with a bit or writing  and I made some good progress with my PT session. I am now under 87kg so that's my first target hit. My trainer said I could get to 60kg by next April, which she says is my BMI approved weight (though I thought it was 65kg). I told her that I would be happy with 83kg. I can't imagine what I'd look like if I lost another 25kg - surely I'd look like a skeleton. But I am very happy that my weight is heading downwards and my energy is (bugs aside) going up and I do seem to have the motivation this time. I have even put my rowing machine together now.

John Robins will now be appearing alongside David Baddiel on Monday's RHLSTP at The Clapham Grand. Isy Suttie will be appearing on the 14th when the other guests are the No Such Thing as a Fish crew and the final show on 5th July is Robin Askwith plus hopefully a very tasty duo who you will not want to miss. I am looking into getting a few single tickets added to the website so that you can come on your own if you wish, so keep an eye here and/or buy some tickets!
