The worst thing about Brexit is that the Pret on St Martin's Lane is now always severely understaffed. They didn't put that on the side of a bus. If they had I would never have voted diamond hard Brexit. I almost regret my decision, but luckily all the other benefits make up for this inconvenience.
I was feeling a bit better today, but a day in bed would probably have been more helpful than driving to London and doing two podcasts. But the show must go on, apparently.
By the time I was at the theatre I was feeling tired and I wasn’t firing on all cylinders on stage, but luckily Mark Gatiss has a very relaxed vibe and I had questions created by Artiificial Intelligence, so I was golden. The specific questions that AI had created were very bad, but some of the new emergency questions worked well. I am not yet ready to replace myself with a robot so that my job is just to bring the robot in, set it up, turn it on, sit backstage and then drive the robot me home before I bum it. But that day is getting ever closer.
Mark, you may recall, provided the voice of Anthony Hopkins in the “I am wanking as I write this†sketch and recently worked with the great man himself, so you can find out if he addressed the issue when he met him by listening to the podcast.
And the AI questions produced some great philosophical responses from Catherine Bohart, as well as an incredible story about buying a taxidermied squirrel as a token of love. This one felt a bit like a fever dream and I can’t be sure about exactly what happened, but I guess I’ll find out when I listen to it.
I think I got home alive, but the only actual evidence I have for that is that is this blog.
