If anyone's making a drama about John Bercow I think I will be really excellent in it. I look a bit like him and am pretty good at playing this kind of character. Check out my Taskmaster acting challenge for proof.

International Women's Day and though it's been two years since I last attempted the Marathon of responding to nitwits, it still felt strange to be taking a back seat. Good strange. For my mental health.
I dipped my toe in for old time's sake and just to remind people that it is still a good idea to donate to Refuge. Another £2500 was added to the total so that's a pretty nice echo of things past.
The hardest thing about stopping was knowing that I was essentially denying a fabulous and sadly vital charity of thousands of pounds.
@PayGapApp stepped into the breach and did some great work pointing out the pay gap for women for any company who expressed support for IWD. I pay Me11 exactly the same amount as all the other Mes.

My wife and I sensibly split the swimming lesson duties today - I picked up Ernie from school. The kids who leave at lunchtime are led in a little line to the front gate by their teacher. Four year olds trying to maintain a disciplined line is still one of the funniest things I've ever seen. One child will get distracted and stop or veer off in the wrong direction, another will see their mum or dad and wave and forget what they're meant to be doing. I can't resist an audience, especially one that is ready to laugh and when they get to the gate and are finally in a proper line I try to make them all laugh by pulling stupid faces at them. Four year olds lap this shit up -though I doubt I'd get away with it for more than 45 minutes on stage. They laugh and pull faces back at me. Perhaps I've not been doing enough live gigs, but I keep chasing the laughs, though they are easy and can be forced. Four year olds tend to do big fake laughs when they know they should be laughing, to show how they get jokes. Adult audiences are the same really. Just better at doing the fake laughs. It's a nice bit of fun in my day and they've all made me laugh with their snaking walk to the gates, so it's fair to repay them.
Ernie likes it best of all. I doubt my son will find me funny for much longer, but for now I am his hero. He can do better, but he doesn't have to know that yet.

Nice to see RHLSTP get a nod at the Chortle awards for best podcast. It's up against ridiculously strong and popular opposition so will not win, but if you want to waste a few seconds of your precious existence then you can vote for it here
