My Penis Can Sing

My Penis Can Sing

Originally written for a school revue (I was still about 17 when I wrote it so have very little excuse), this is the song that Stewart Lee heard about and thought I might be worth working with.
It is very hard to see why.

Mixed Press for a student revue

Mixed Press for a student revue

Here are some of the mixed reviews we got in 1988.
I still use "Patchy but promising" as a kind of catch-phrase. I think the Punch review was written by Alan Coren. I did nothing to prove him wrong on my recent appearance with him on the Newsquiz!

Carbon Dioxide Hoarding

Carbon Dioxide Hoarding

As mentioned in Warming Up from 30th June 2003, this is another old University script which made it into the final version of the Oxford Revue 1988.
There was an additional final line which was the old fella pointing at the flower and saying "You bastard", just in case you hadn't got the joke.
You decide how shit we were.

Ashley Hilarious

Ashley Hilarious

This is a sketch that we did in the preview run of the Oxford Revue, but which nobody liked so we cut it from the Edinburgh version.
But I think it's quite funny now.
That last line read "looks at the sandwich, then throws himself dramatically off the wall."

No we were right. It was rubbish.

University Production of the Alchemist

University Production of the Alchemist

Me, Emma "Williams" Kennedy and renowned confectionary historian Tim Richardson in a college production of the Alchemist. From posh student newspaper "Cherwell"
It is interesting that even then there was confusion over who was Lee and who was Herring, though the paper got my name wrong so many times I began to believe it was some kind of running joke.

Polaroids from the Photo shoot

These are two of the test polaroids that were taken at the Talking Cock Photo shoot, and thus very slightly different from the ones you will see in the press!

Programme for 7 Raymonds Oxford Run

Programme for 7 Raymonds Oxford Run

This is the programme for the autumn 87 Raymonds show in Oxford.
I designed the programme and wrote all that stuff on it, so the wrongly used apostrophe on the cover is my fault!

After Edinburgh 87 the Raymonds did a new version of the show in Oxford and the attendance was somewhat better. Here is the flyer for the show.

The Programme for the 7 Raymonds Edinburgh Run

This rare programme was probably distributed to less than 30 people. I'm guessing I have the only copy left.
Here it is for your retro delight!
