Tour manager James recommended a youtube video that I watched on the way home - it's this incredible piece of work by Bobby Fingers. I hadn't seen his stuff before but I am blown away by his commitment, his skill, his comedy, the multiple-layers of jokes, reality, lies, research. It's one of the greatest things I've ever seen and shows that if you have time and money (hopefully from his subscribers) you can do amazing things on the internet. Also he actually finds out the truth about what happened when Fabio was hit by a goose on a rollercoaster. As well as creating a beautiful work of art. That someone gets to have if they solve the puzzle of where it is. There's so much going on here. You're going to love it. Can't wait to watch the rest.
Back home in time to go out for lunch with my gorgeous wife, as the kids were being looked after elsewhere (hopefully). We went into the tosspot hotspot that is Harpenden, as Catie had been to a good restaurant there last month. It was called Tabure and was indeed very good. Too good for Harpenden. And pretty good for the Zoe diet (not that I've really been following that, but am intending to get back into it tomorrow! That's what I say every day though) as it was Mediterranean dishes. Lovely food.
We popped to Sainsburys on the way home. I thought the car park might be free on a Sunday and though it was cheaper if you were planning to stay there for over an hour, if you just wanted to be there for 15 minutes it was more expensive than a weekday, as there was just a daily charge of £2.50. I thought about risking not paying, but the people of Harpenden didn't get rich by allowing someone to park for free in a carpark, even though they were spending money in the supermarket it was attached to. We picked up a few bits and paid on the self-scanning tills and were surprised to discover that you were then locked into that section of the supermarket unless you scanned your receipt. I have never seen this anywhere else and you'd think Harpenden wouldn't be the first place to adopt this thief busting tech, but again, these people didn't get rich by allowing you to walk out of a supermarket with any dignity. Luckily I'd kept the receipt and was able to escape, but it struck me as tech that wasn't really going to save any money and would just leave customers feeling insulted. You could just follow another shopper through the gate, or buy one item and steal the rest, or kick in the gates and shit on the floor. It's all that Harpenden deserves and even though I had paid I did it anyway.
Harpenden is the worst.
Pleased with tosspot hotspot though. Quick google suggests I may be the first on that. Should go on the Harpenden signposts.
