Future generations (if applicable). Sorry we broke the world. I just want you to know that we fully knew what we needed to do to stop it breaking but decided not to do that. Soz.

A rather lovely evening to end the current run of RHLSTP at the Leicester Square Theatre with Nigel Planer and Sarah Millican, podcasts that were somewhat different in tone and reverence. Lovely to show Nigel how much he is loved and to chat to him about his many recent projects which have been a long time in the making, but are all coming to fruition this year. There was a minor interruption from a heckler who due to alcohol and self-proclaimed mental issues took exception to a perfectly benign conversation and had to leave. It won't be in the final podcast, but luckily it didn't derail the chat for more than a couple of minutes. The concerns were unfounded and Nigel is the most gentle of gentlemen who would never make light of such an issue and the audience were patient and kind too.
I have met Nigel on a couple of occasions, both real and virtual, but it was an honour to spend time in his company and to tell him how much his work meant to me. I get the feeling that the surviving Young Ones are a little bamboozled by the continued love this forty year old project which they only worked on for three months of their lives, but they inspired a generation of comedians and gave us the slight hint that it might be a possible path for ordinary "kids".
I can't believe that it's nearly four years since I'd last had Sarah on the show, but it's always an incredible experience when we meet up. Only with her does the podcast become a competition and we both seem to have licence to be as rude as possible to each other. And somehow we both love it. Sometimes the audience seemed appalled by us, but mainly they loved it. And so did I.
These podcasts are not out until Sept/October but you can watch now by buying a pass at gfsboxoffice.com
