The curse of Mary Poppins strikes again, with the wondrous Glynis Johns being taken from us at just 100 (and only two of the other three principle adult actors are still alive). Very sad to see her go, though I was sure I remembered her dying last year, so this was a big shock to me. I am not ready to lose Dick Van Dyke.
The kids are having skiiing lessons, but neither of them are enjoying it. I am glad that they seem to be taking after the Herring anti-ski trait, rather than the corrupt DNA in their mother that makes people think skiing is a good idea.
There is still time for them to be brainwashed though. Though they might be the last generation to be able to ski if global warming has its way. Global warming is not all bad if it can stop these people.
Everyone it very tired - even me and I'm only being a ski carrier - which further cements the fact that skiing is in no way a holiday. It's really hard work that can injure or kill you. Sure you might get eaten by a shark on a beach holiday, but you're not shooting yourself out of a cannon towards a shark. You might get hit by a jetski too, but again that is a mark against skiing rather than a mark against swimming.
Our friends saw a skier with a broken leg being brought off the mountain on a stretcher. The stretcher was on skis with a skier at either end and bumped quickly down the mountain, which must have been a lot of fun for the broken leg guy. But you can't have too much sympathy because broken legs are what happens if you throw yourself off a mountain.
I got a pass today - not a ski pass (though I did get one of those too as there was talk of going up in a cable car, but we then didn't go) and got to have midday til about four to myself and did some reading and lying down. Like I was on a beach. But just colder and inside.
The free champagne got drunk this evening, but not by me, and we went out for another great meal. My holiday from my diet has only been two weeks - it's incredible to think that it's that short a time since just before Christmas, but I've been in a blur of exhaustion. I haven't gone crazy with eating bad foods and tonight had salmon and a fennel salad, but I am missing the energy boost from mainly eating vegetables. But it's also fun to eat bread and other things that I've mainly eschewed (and not chewed). Will be interesting to see the impact of this naughty fortnight (naughtnight) has had, but am keen to get back to making my oaty seed bread and eating stir fries for breakfast.

That's 0.1p per question.

And I think it's a mistake (I was told this was just going to be a thing in November), but Can I Have My Ball Back? is still 99p too.
That's 49.5p a ball, though one of the balls is a bit manky.
