Maybe I don't have to feel bad about letting the kids do their own thing. Cos whilst we sat by the pool again, they got to play tennis and then take a ride on an inflatable being pulled by a speedboat.
Or maybe this suits all of us. They are pretty much done with kids club now, so it's a family holiday from here on in, but very necessary for the parents in this family to get a rest and feel, just for a second or two, like people rather than parents.
My pool enemy was back with avengeance today. Not only was he on his phone most of the time, he'd decided to put it on speaker phone and hold it like he was a contestant on the Apprentice. And it that wasn't bad enough, the area became polluted by a heavy cloud of stinking tobacco smoke. I looked around to see who was responsible of course it was Selfish McCuntface, puffing away on a comically huge cigar. It wasn't enough that he was polluting the auditory sense, he wanted to take out our smell and taste as well. Was he paying me back for daring to ask him to move on?
I took a photo of him because I wanted to shame him on the internet, but Catie said I wasn't allowed to put it up without his permission. But he's allowed to shout down my earhole and fill my lungs with cancerous fumes without permission? I think the world should know about him. Like those pricks on Chris Martin's jumbatron. I want to ruin him.
To be fair the emoji looks exactly like his face so if you know him, you'll recognise him.
No evil grandma today though. The world can only cope with one entitled villain at a time.
As I read about Sebastian Faulks' love of fine wines and endless travel as a youth I started to think he might be a bit entitled too. Until I realised that I was reading the book whilst lying on a huge floaty cushion in blazing sunshine on an adults only pool in a super posh hotel, after drinking an iced latte brought to me by waiting staff.
But at least I feel embarrassed about it!
